Electric Awning Upgrade
Upgrade your existing A&E manual awning to 12V push button operation!
You do not need to purchase a roller assembly to achieve push button operation! You just need to purchase the Eclipse or Travel'r arm set. The castings that come with the arm sets can receive both the Carefree and A&E aluminum roller assemblies. Just remove the arms and spring assemblies from the existing awning then attach the Travel'r or Eclipse arm sets. Run 12 gauge wire from a power distribution panel, auxiliary battery or equivalent to where you will mount the operation switches. Then connect the awning motor wire and power wires at the operation switch.
Before ordering arm sets, check to make sure the roller is aluminum. The easiest way to check this is to hold a magnet to the tube. If it sticks, it is steel. If you run into a steel roller, the fabric will need to be transferred onto an aluminum roller tube. Contact your local dealer for pricing.
